Stunning processing speed

The Sony a7 III has a newly developed sensor with increased image processing capability. With BIONZ XTM image processing engine and front-end LSI, a new version of the 24.2-megapixel Exmor RTM CMOS sensor is combined with an enhanced back-illuminated structure. This combination enables a data readout speed that is 2x faster. Not to mention, data processing capability that’s 1.8x higher.

Incredible detail with less noise

Enhanced noise reduction, even in high-resolution images - this is the perfect camera to rent if shooting in low light conditions.  Image quality with up to 1.5 stop improvement.  Shoot at high ISO without worrying about noise and image degradation with highly effective performance in mid-to-high sensitivity ranges. In addition to an extended ISO range of ISO 100-51200 (expandable to ISO 50-2048006 for still photos), Area-specific Noise Reduction maintains image details while reducing noise.

Wide Dynamic Range

Dynamic range of up to approx. 15 stops Transition from shadow to highlight is subtle and smooth for enhanced freedom of creative imaging. Approx. 15-stop dynamic range at low-sensitivity settings. This is achieved compliments of an evolved CMOS sensor and image processor that provide subtle gradation from shadow to highlight.  A wide dynamic range improves a camera's image quality under high-contrast lighting conditions where both brightly and dimly lit areas are in the field of view. The camera attains details clearly in poorly and strongly illuminated areas.

Accurate color reproduction

More faithful color reproduction directly from the camera. Due to enhanced color reproduction performance, subjects that you capture appear more natural with color that is faithful to how the colors look in real life. From the vivid greens in landscapes, and hues in still-life images, to extremely realistic skin tones in portraits – the Sony a7iii captures real life.

5-axis stabilization supplies steadier shots

Ditch the noticeable blur from camera shake and instead get crystal clear images. The Sony a7 III delivers excellent performance with a wide range of lenses with a 5.0-step shutter speed which compensates for 5 types of camera shake. Utilizing the latest high-precision stabilization that uses a stabilization unit and gyro sensors and algorithms.
